Adjustable Tower for Rocket Boosted Gliders

See photos and drawings as to how the tower head allows for different model types and adjustments.

Also note other photos on the CD involving gliders in towers.

This was used for a 3rd place R&D project at NARAM-37 in 1996.

Towers usually need something to hold them on the ground.

The "Omni-Pad" is designed to hold towers, C-rails, rods, etc.

More recent versions replace heavy 1 x 2 wood with 3/4" square aluminum tubing. Some with 5/8" doweling inside for easier breakdown for transport (see photo at top left of page).

Latest change to Omni-Pad is a turnbuckle to allow for finer elevaito nadjustments. Not realyl neededfor glider use but useful for ballistic models.

Photo at right is one of several involving a 40mm diameter model Tower on the FAI Stuff page.
