Tom Beach and the Little Joe-II

Tom's brother John had the Cox Little Joe II, and he also had the Centuri 1/45 Little Joe II. Tom built the 1/45 model for John -- as the elder rocket brother, Tom often built the models for his younger siblings at first.

It was the historical brochure that came with the Centuri 1/45 Little Joe II that really got Tom interested in the Little Joe-II.

Tom's interest grew to seeking out data and whatever information and photos he could find for the Little Joe-II. At NARAM-29 in Houston in 1983, Tom looked for what he could find in the History Office at JSC.

At NARAM-29 in 1987, Tom won Scale (Measured scale) with a 1/100 Little Joe-II model he built mostly from scratch.

In 1991, Tom and George collaborated on the drawings and article that ran in the May/June and July/August issues of American Spacemodeling magazine (now Sport Rocketry).
